Welcome to MySeasonPass.com. What is it and why should you care. Well,
put simply, MySP aggregates RSS feeds from many torrent sites and extracts the TV Series torrents. That then allows you, the user, to define rules that govern what shows appear and to group
and order torrents by program name, season number and episode number. You can define what programs appear here very simply in the rules section. After you register (username & password only, I don't want your name, email
etc. etc) you can define what programs appear very simply in the rules section.
How does it work? What happens is this. RSS feeds from popular torrent sites are read in constantly and TV series episodes are noted and stored
in the database. Episodes usually have markers like S02E01 or 2x01 (season 2, episode 1) so it's easy to see which is which. After you've registered, you can set
up rules containing keywords i.e. 'Alias' or Lost'. When ever you view the front page the service scans the database and lists out episodes that match your rules in a
season/episode order.
How do I register? Click on the 'Register' button above. Then, enter in your preferred Username, your password and your confirmation password. Press Register.
And that's it. The radio buttons below the button control whether or not you would like a cookie to remember you for subsequent visits to the site.
How do I create rules? After you've registered or logged in you'll see a 'Rules' button in the menu. You can create the Rules in two ways. Firstly, you can select
the more popular shows from a list by ticking which shows you want and hitting update. For shows not in the list select the Rules tab to go to the user defines rules section. These
are very, very simple at the moment. All you have to do is click on the create new rule button, enter in the Rule Name and then type in the keywords you want to scan for in the torrent title (press Add
after each word) i.e. If you want to keep an eye out for 'Lost' then you put Lost in as a key word. The rules, at the moment are just simple 'OR' searchs so if you
wanted to follow the show 'Numbers' you would enter in 'Numbers' and 'Numb3ers', it's alternate spelling. Hit update and it's in.
Privacy? Not only am I not collecting any personal data from users I happen to think Spammers are scum so you can rest assured I won't be selling your details.
RSS Feeds There are three available 1) Upcoming shows 2) All shows that match your rules and 3) the topmost show that matches your rules (handy for clients like uTorrent and Azeurus)
User Options You can access the user options section from the 'Rules' section by selecting the User Options tab. At the moment the options available to you are a) Filter iPod formatted shows
(been a lot of those since the video iPod came out) b) limit the number of torrents that are shown per rule (torrents are sorted by season/episode then seeds/leeches so the top few will probably have the ones you want
and c) Show/Hide the upcoming shows panel
Future Versions A better FAQ would I'm sure be apreciated but what I am going to be working on are:
Better help texts. A visual walkthrough of the rules procedure.
User defined feeds: You get to select which torrent sites you see torrent links from. Useful for when I start adding Spanish language, Japanese sites etc.
Advanced Rules. Right now the rule keywords are simply x OR y OR z etc. I want to add in better Boolean searchs so you can define rule like 'CSI' AND 'Miami' AND NOT ('NY' OR 'New York').
